Earlier this week, it was announced that Meg Medina will be the next National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Safe to say I’m pretty happy with the news.

Join the Library of Congress as we inaugurate Meg Medina, the eighth National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. The National Ambassador is charged with fostering a love of reading, writing and civic engagement among children, teens and families. Medina will serve a two-year term from 2023 to 2024.
The Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden will welcome and inaugurate Meg Medina, who will give remarks, share her platform “Cuéntame!: Let’s talk books”, and officially kick off her term.
The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature is an initiative of the Library of Congress, in partnership with Every Child a Reader, with generous support from The Library of Congress James Madison Council, The Capital Group Companies Charitable Foundation and Dollar General Literacy Foundation. This event is co-sponsored by the Library’s Informal Learning Office.
