What’s the book about? This sums it up nicely:

There once was a terrible king who wanted everything. And everything he wanted, he took. So when he decided that he needed 1,000 horses, his wish was the kingdom’s command. But 1,000 horses are . . . a lot of horses. And soon the king realizes that he has more than he bargained for.
