Top 10 Circulated Fiction of the 2023-24 School Year
At the end of the school year I like to see which books were checked out the most in my K-3rd grade school library. I know, it’s not the end of the school year yet, but now that we’ve hit May, you can feel it coming.
You never know what might show up on this list (although I bet you could make some pretty good guesses).

Some readers might be wondering why Dog Man is in our fiction section and not our graphic novel section. I agree it’s a bit weird, but we really wanted to keep all the Dav Pilkey books (Capt. Underpants, Ricky Ricotta, Dog Man) together, rather that having students visit two locations to see what was in.
So here are the most circulated fiction books of 2023-24:
#8 (TIE). Grime and Punishment (Dog Man) by Dav Pilkey
#8 (TIE). No Brainer (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) by Jeff Kinney
#8 (TIE). The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown
#5 (TIE). Perspectives (Cat Kid Comic Club) by Dav Pilkey
#5 (TIE). Jingle Bells, Batman Smells (Junie B. First Grader) by Barbara Park
#5 (TIE). Diper Överlöde (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) by Jeff Kinney
#2 (TIE). The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
#2 (TIE). I Survived: The Attacks of September 11, 2001 by Lauren Tarshis
#2 (TIE). Dory Dory Black Sheep by Abby Hanlon
#1. Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea (Dog Man) by Dav Pilkey
