Our 2020 Mock Caldecott Results!

Over the past month, K-3rd grade students have been reading, evaluating, and comparing some of the best picture books of the year during our 2020 Mock Caldecott unit.

Last week all 455 students voted for the book they thought most deserved to win the Caldecott Medal.

Here’s how the voting went:

Pretty close! Last year, for the first time ever, our Mock Caldecott winner ended up being the actual winner. How will things play out this time around?

The Caldecott (and other Youth Media Award) winners will be announced on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at 8 a.m. ET from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, in Philadelphia.

    All happy choices, but I am plumping for RIVER by Elisha Cooper (the illustrations are wonderful – and it is a very exciting read, which makes it not your typical picture book!)
