I correctly predicted two of the Best Illustrated Children’s Books of 2018 (The Visitor and Dreamers). I was this close to adding Funeral (but I didn’t) and The Forest (that one really should have been on my list). But those are just the sad whinings of a guy who went two for ten.

Honestly, with all of the terrific books out there, I think 2 for 10 is pretty good! Thanks for this post and the link to the NYTimes announcement (I will probably spend the rest of the day looking at it.) As someone who developed an affinity for biographies by copying my undertaker-father’s typed obituaries . . . I am rooting for Funeral!
