Interesting to see all the love for books published by authors that have visited your school over the year on this list. Authors visits are so powerful.
That’s true – 3 of 10
Hi Travis! I thought maybe you would like to see my top ten! I wish my list was as varied as yours. My list has only 4 authors represented in 10 books.
These are the top ten books circulated so far this year in my elementary library in a public school on the White Earth Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota. We don’t get visiting authors often, and they usually are more interested in the High school readers. Our last author visitor was Gerald Vizenor 5 years ago and he didn’t stop in the elementary…but boy, were there ever some good discussions in the high school! Since then, my job has changed and our high school library is now staffed by an aid rather than me being half-time high school and half-time elementary. I’m teaching a reading intervention program three hours a day, teaching 18 classes of elementary library skills a week and covering the high school aid’s lunch hour for a half hour every day. Thank heaven’s for professional contributors like you, or I would never even attempt to keep current in what’s happening in publishing. As it is, I get to purchase books once a year for both sites and it’s quite a project. Anyway, here’s our list!
