Link Du Jour: Fox in Socks, Quickly
I’ve never been a particularly fast reader.
Sure I can make hay when I have to (see also: review deadline breathing heavily down my neck) but most of the time I find myself rereading sentences to make sure I caught everything, stopping to consider especially thought-provoking passages, pausing to address any uneaten English muffins lying on plates before me, etc.

But if I could hit the near headache-inducing WPMs the woman in the following video, I’d … be able to read very, very fast. A Fox in Socks reading to remember:

Hi,
I so enjoy reading your posts. Here’s a question I’ve been wanting to ask you: How do you create the words and phrases with individual letter tiles (e.g. Additional resources)? A couple of years ago I know I saw the tool somewhere (I think it’s called a generator of some sort?)and thought I put it in my delicious account but it’s not there.
I’ve done a search but I’m obviously not using the right terms. Can you help? I’d like to steal your idea to jazz up some of my own posts and school library website. Thanks!
She has a promising career in doing those legal trailers on medical commercials! Woosie.
Ha – yeah, someone needs to put her in contact w/ the pharmaceutical companies asap.
I read it pretty fast, but sheesh!
Holy cow! That was some super fast reading!
My head is spinning and my ears totally bumfuzzled although it was indeed quite lyrical; and as I followed the words it was very clear she was reading each word….whew! The medical info as Elizabeth notes as well as political campaign disclaimers on ads are a lucrative field for this young lady!
I agree – you can sort of follow along and know she’s hitting every word. Incredible!
Before I watched that video, I didn’t know anyone faster than me at reading Fox in Sox. She leaves me in the dust. Amazing!
Thank you for a lot of fun, sir!
First of all, I just wanted to say how much I love your blog. Secondly, this video is awesome. My youngest makes me read Fox in Socks as fast as I can and I used to think I was pretty fast, but clearly no where in the same league as this woman. My son will LOVE this. Thanks for sharing. Hi-Lar-i-ous, as he’d say!
It’s a good thing the text was scrolling! That was so funny! She looked like she was having a great time. Thanks for sharing it.
