Head on over to the Cybils Awards site and nominate your favorites of the year in a multitude of categories. You see, the Cybils take a “power to the people” approach to literary awards – books are nominated by the public.
Since I’m on the Fiction Picture Book committee this year, allow me give an extra shove in that direction.

I’m a judge for Cybils Nonfiction Picture Books. In real life, I’m a children’s librarian in a primary school.
I thought it was time that I added my favorite and most useful blogs to my Google Reader. So I am on a mission today to be-friend and be-follow other children and young adult bloggers, focusing on those who will be Cybils panelists and judges.
Thus I have just be-friended and be-followed you!
Here is my blog: http://www.readerbuzz.blogspot.com.
I’d love to have you stop by and be-friend or be-follow or just say hello.
Hi there Scope Notes! I’m a fellow Fiction Picture Books judge. I’m a newbie judge (although I’ve been a big Cybils fan for a while.) I’m so honored to be on the first round panel with you. I visit your blog often for awesome reviews and great kidlit news and views. I’m looking forward to selecting an awesome Shortlist this year!
Thanks – and welcome – I’m looking forward to getting down to the best of the best as well. This is my third year on the fiction picture books committee, and it’s been awesome every time.
