I know this will probably get me into trouble, but I have to say it: I really, really hate _Love You Forever_. I know, I know, so many people love it, but the image of the mother slithering across the floor to crawl into bed with her child…it’s like something out of a Japanese horror movie. I feel ill just thinking about it.
Ha – you won’t find anyone saying otherwise here.
I agree! I always thought that book was disturbing. And while I’m at it I’ll confess to hating the Giving Tree too! What a spoiled brat – taking everything until there is nothing left to take. It explains some peoples view of nature.

As usual, E. Bird is spot-on. Although mediocrity is too kind an assessment, in my opinion.
Ugh, the Giving Tree is like the picture book equivalent of Nancy from Oliver! I just want to stage an intervention for that poor tree and tell it that no one deserves to be abused.
