A Mini 2026 Caldecott Bump Update
Every year, after the Youth Media Awards are finished, I kick myself. Why? Because I wished I had taken screenshots of the Amazon sales rankings for some of the contenders so I could compare the before and after.
Well this year I am not kicking myself, because I did it.

The morning of the announcements, I went to the Amazon page for Fireworks by Matthew Burgess and Cátia Chien. Here’s the before . . .

Did you spot it? #11,340th place.
And then a day after the awards, I went back and saw this . . .

Up to #376! Just a casual eleven thousand place jump. And it was likely higher at some point, this is just when I happened to visit.
Next up – keeping an eye on the New York Times Bestseller lists.
Always great to see the Caldecott Bump in action.
