March Book Madness 2026 is Coming . . .

We’re set to get a few inches of snow here in Michigan this week, but my thoughts are already turning to that post-thaw tradition: March Book Madness.
Modeled after March Madness in college basketball, it’s a single-elimination tournament where books go head to head, with the winner of each matchup decided by kid votes. Winners advance until there is a champion. There are picture book, middle grade, and YA brackets.

Teachers Tony Keefer and Scott Jones created the event, and have recently handed off the reins to fellow educators Katie and Jeff.
The list of books has just been released (with brackets coming soon) – make sure you have them on hand come March.
