SURPRISE! I’m Making a Book with Carter Higgins: LITTLE TURTLE POND

I’ve been pals with author/illustrator Carter Higgins for a while. We bonded back in the children’s literature peak internet days and met in person for the first time at NerdCamp. Since then, we’ve been co-organizing (along with Mel Schuitt) the annual Undies Case Cover Awards and Endies Endpaper Awards.
And now we have a new project we’d like you to know about:

I was beyond delighted to receive the manuscript for Little Turtle Pond from Carter’s editor Alessandra Balzer. It’s Chicka Chicka Boom Boom meets Rosie’s Walk and will be a blast to read aloud. Little Turtle Pond will be the first time I’ve illustrated a book that I haven’t also written.
It arrives in spring of 2027. We can’t wait for you to see it.
Thank you Carter Higgins, Alessandra Balzer, Stephen Barbara, Balzer + Bray, and Macmillan for making this happen.
