A Humble Back-to-School Suggestion: Read CABOOSE with Your Students

Really, it all began with this drawing I made about all the wild ways kids hold their library books:

That was the initial spark that led to Caboose, a picture book written by me and illustrated by the great Ruth Chan. It’s all about the high-stakes world of lining up.

Caboose received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Kirkus, who calls it “a chaotic yet hilarious story grounded in real childhood emotions”. There’s no better time to read this book than at the beginning of the school year.
