I GOT YOU: Derrick Barnes on NPR

Ever since Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut, I’ve been following the consistently excellent work of Derrick Barnes.

His latest book is called I Got You (illustrated by Shamar Knight-Justice) and he hopped on Kansas City NPR to talk about the book, and his path to writing. It all started in 5th grade . . .
