The Most Challenged Books of 2024
Safe to say this is my least favorite post of the year.
The American Library Association recently released their list of the most challenged books of 2024, and it’s mostly made up of books that have been on the list in recent years.

One wild bit of info on the above graphic is that only 16% of challenges were initiated by parents, with the majority coming from boards, admin, groups, and elected officials.
The #1 and #2 books on the 2024 list, All Boys Aren’t Blue and Gender Queer, also topped the 2023 list (swapping first and second position). The Bluest Eye, Tricks, Flamer, Sold, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl also appeared in the 2023 list.
