March Book Madness 2025 is Coming . . .
While it’s not yet feeling like spring here in Michigan, my thoughts are still turning to that post-thaw tradition: March Book Madness.
Modeled after March Madness in college basketball, it’s a single-elimination tournament where books go head to head, with the winner of each matchup decided by kid votes. Winners advance until there is a champion. Teachers Tony Keefer and Scott Jones created the event and there are picture book, middle grade, and YA brackets.

The list of books has just been released, if you want to make sure you have them on hand come March.
