Newbery Jump 2025

One great side effect of winning the Newbery Medal? The award really moves the needle in terms of sales. As soon as The First State of Being was announced, librarians and booksellers around the country got busy tracking down copies. Often times, the Newbery winner can be hard to find for a few weeks until more copies can be printed.
So, it’s been over week since the Newbery was handed out – how is it faring on the New York Times Bestseller list?

It debuted this week at the #5 spot. Here’s hoping it sticks around for a while.
It’s also common for Newbery Honor books to make the New York Times list. None have showed up yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye on the situation.
