Okay, okay, a couple surprises on the list this week. Although, to be fair, I always assume the list will be 100% well known series and celebrity books. So seeing a Caldecott Honor winning book at the top of the list (Knight Owl) is a beautiful sight to see, and well deserved – my students love that book. Three “NEW THIS WEEK” books on the list! Impossible Creatures is one of the most buzzed about middle grade books of the year, having already been a big hit in the UK. Cool to see Newbery Honoree Jasmine Warga on the list for A Strange Thing Happened in Cherry Hall (an art-thief mystery that looks very good). And the most famous historian I know, Doris Kearns Goodwin, pops on the list with a president bio book The Leadership Journey (illustrated by the wonderful Amy June Bates).
Any surprises for you?
