Me: No, what’s your favorite book?
3rd Grade Student: Okay, Andy!

Me: Oh yeah – I know that book – I like that one too.
3rd Grade Student: Did you know it has a second season?
Me: (Look of confusion)
Me: (Wheels turning)
Me: (Realizing what this student is saying)
Me: Ohh – like another book with the same characters? A sequel?
3rd Grade Student: Yeah! The second season is good too.

Second season. For a book. It makes me laugh, cry, and begrudgingly acknowledge the fact that it makes complete sense as a synonym for “sequel”.
