It’s what you see when you remove the jacket from a book. Now, most case covers are pretty boring: plain paper or sporting the same image as the jacket.

But there are some case covers that get creative. That’s what the Undies Case Cover Awards are here to recognize.

Here’s how The Undies will work:

Now through October 31st, 2022 we are accepting nominations* for the best case covers of the year.

In November, we will announce shortlists in a variety of categories and then we’ll open up the polls. The winner will be decided by popular vote (see also: you). We’ll announce the winners shortly thereafter.

*To nominate a case cover for the 2022 Undies:

Make sure your nomination was published between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022. If so, take a photo of the front cover (jacket on) AND the case with the jacket removed (click here to see examples).

*NOTE* You must have a Google account to submit.

Anyone (including publishers) can nominate. You can nominate as many books as you’d like.

It’s time to recognize this unsung part of the book – what do you say?
