School Librarian Saturday: 2022 Notable Children’s Digital Media List

The annual Notable Children’s Digital Media list from ALSC is recommended perusing. The 2022 list was released this summer, so it’s time to take a look.

What It Is: Every year a committee of librarians select a short list of useful websites and apps for children 14 and under, with a focus on education.

What’s Good About It: As a school librarian, this is a list I always look forward to. There are always a few resources that are new to me that I end up using with students or adding to our library website.

What’s Bad About It: As the years have passed a lot of educational resources for kids are available as IOS apps only. This is a bummer for students with browser access only.

Last Words: If you’re a school librarian who isn’t looking at this list every year, you’re missing out.
