The Story of Amos McGee with Erin and Philip Stead
Colby and I have wanted to have Erin and Philip Stead on The Yarn podcast for a looong time. Like, before we even aired our first episode. They’re a couple of the best picture book makers working today.
So it was such a pleasure to travel to Ann Arbor a couple weeks back and interview them in their studio. We talked about all things Amos. Winning the 2011 Caldecott Medal with A Sick Day for Amos McGee. How the book changed the course of their careers. And why they decided it was time for Amos to return this fall in Amos McGee Misses the Bus.
