Please Accept Your (Virtual) Newbery
This time of year, my thoughts turn to ALA Annual. Seeing pals. Learning. Attending the Newbery/Caldecott Banquet.
So as Youth Media Award winners have been starting to share their at-home award unboxing . . .

. . . it finally, really hit me that (due to the COVID-19 cancellation) in-person ALA won’t be happening this year.
But I was happy to learn that there will be some (virtual) pomp and circumstance for the award winners after all.
On June 28 (what would have been the day of the Newbery/Caldecott Banquet) ALA is presenting The ALA Book Award Celebration. It’s a “free all-day virtual event celebrating the winners of several of its major book awards.”
