Announcing The Yarn LIVE at ALA Annual 2017!
Last summer we tried our first LIVE episode of The Yarn. Colby and I talked to Kate DiCamillo in Orlando. We had some laughs, some awkward moments (*Note* Those were all due to me – why did we kick things off with Colby reading an entry from my diary – WHY???)

Long story short, it was so much fun that we decided to do it again.
That’s right, The Most Un-Live Podcast in Children’s Literature™ (we do a lot of editing) is winging it at the upcoming American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago. Both will take place on the Chapter One Stage (on the exhibits floor) and I think you’re going to like the guests.
LIVE Episode #1 with Katherine Paterson: Friday, June 23 @ 5:45-6:35 pm
Aw yeah. She might be a Newbery winner and a former Ambassador of Young People’s Literature, but has she ever dabbed??? (just kidding, I’m not going to ask her to do that. But it will be a good chat and I’m looking forward to it.)
on to LIVE Episode #2 with Picture Book Creators: Saturday, June 24 @ 9:15-10:00 am
That’s a good-looking crew there. And they are as talented as they are beautiful, I assure you. This is going to be a free-wheeling chat on all things picture book – influences, inspirations, and how the form has evolved.
Hope to see you there. And if you’re not attending, subscribe to The Yarn and look for the episodes from these interviews down the road.
