Publishers Weekly Names the Best Children’s Books of 2013

This just in (over the weekend): Publishers Weekly released their batch of best books for 2013. There always seems to be an outlier or two in the PW list, which I appreciate. Last year it was Hilda and the Ghost Giant, this year it’s the graphic novel Bad Machinery. I can’t say I agree with that pick, but I like the boldness, PW – liking the boldness. They hand out the bests in three categories – Picture Books, Fiction, Nonfiction.

  1. I’m always a little peeved when they put out best books lists so soon. I suppose they can do that since they use advance copies. I, for one, am not done reading books for 2013.
