This Blog is Five: You Are…
November 9 marks five years since I started this blog. I like to celebrate big occasions like any school librarian – by gathering and analyzing data! I put up a reader poll (a.k.a. “got this party started”) last week, tabulated the results (a.k.a. “turned on Ginuine’s My Pony”), and created an unintentionally creepy-looking amalgam of the results. A. Female. This one wasn’t even close.
B. A public librarian. With school librarian a close second.
C. Born in the 80s. Signified by a Walkman. I was born in 1981, so this lets me know I can drop way more 80s references – look out!
D. A fan of middle grade fiction. This was a pretty close race, with picture books coming in a close second.
E. Would like to meet Mo Willems. This one surprised me – I was expecting Rowling or Van Allsburg to take the top spot.
F. Prefer Seuss to Sendak. This one was, admittedly, unfair. Fun, but unfair.

Your dedication to librarianship, your wry humor and insights coupled with your knowledge make coming to this blog a pleasure. Happy Blog Birthday, Travis! Thanks for sharing your stats. In my mind I am hearing Arte Johnson from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In saying, “Verrry interesting.”

Happy Birthday! And very cool stats. I’m an author/illustrator, which puts me in the minority (and I wasn’t born in the 80’s – not telling), but I still enjoy the heck out of your blog! 🙂 e
