Books on Film: Lauren Conrad vs. Lemony Snicket
Any time you mix Lauren Conrad (of The Hills fame), Lemony Snicket, and the world’s worst DIY project, hilarity is bound to ensue, right?

It all began when Conrad posted this “Crafty Creations” video on YouTube, where she chops up the darn near the entire Series of Unfortunate Events for a book display/box thingie.
I love the serene acoustic guitars playing in the background.
After some backlash, the video was taken down from YouTube. The Today Show ran a pretty funny story about it, with plenty of commenter quotes. But taking the cake was a quote from Lemony Snicket himself. Click here to read.

A Series of Unfortunate Incisions.
I will read literally anything Daniel Handler writes and listen to literally anything he says, as even his asides and short quotes are more entertaining than pretty much anything else.
That Snicket quote is hilarious. Makes me want to read that whole series again. (It would be, I think, the third time.)
The man can be trusted for a good quote, can’t he?
While I don’t like the thought of destroying books, as long as she bought and paid for them she can do with them what she pleases. I would think that Lemony Snicket would be thankful for the proceeds:).
I’m actually a librarian and love doing book crafts — old or new. I don’t see the big deal. I actually scoured the shelves at a local Goodwill and bought books and created a lamp (yes, I drilled a hole through them). I also made a Christmas tree to display in the library — made entirely of book pages. Upcycyling is favorite thing to do and the kids love seeing that books in action. For all the people complaining, it’s clear they haven’t seen the dozens of books, videos, and crafts circulating the internet that have to do with books.
Dear God, that man is hilarious; I want to hang out with him so bad. Do you think he’d come to Cincinnati just to have a beer with me?
