Thanks for this great, great review, Travis! I love this book, the event in part for me is a nostaglic trip back to childhood, memories of elementary school days.
I’ve been hearing other folks saying that as well – I suppose that’s a good sign that Wiles really captured the era well.
Great job. I love your Toon review! (is that you in the blue shirt?) We have the same timing. I just posted my review of Countdown last night. In addition to the great trailer, Scholastic also offers a discussion guide, a booktalk, and a PDF excerpt.
Thanks for mentioning the additional Countdown materials available – this would make a great classroom read. Also, I linked to your review.
Thanks. I will do the same. 🙂
