5 Books I’m Taking Camping
Our family is going camping for a while, and the biggest thing on my mind is not camping supplies and travel plans, it’s which books I should bring.
Here are five that will make the trip.

Ava Lin, Best Friend by Vicky Fang
This is the first book in a new early chapter book series and I’m always on the lookout for books I can recommend to students in this zone.

Timid by Jonathan Todd
I shared my excitement for this one on an earlier preview post, but I was waiting for the right time to read it. Now that I have some time, I’m looking forward to jumping in.

Next Stop by Debbie Fong
Sometimes you come across a book and you just know “Yep, I’m definitely reading this”. Next stop is one of those books for me.

The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman by Gennifer Choldenko
I revealed the cover for this book and I’m excited to read it.

The Wild River and the Great Dam by Simon Boughton
Gotta have some nonfiction for the trip. I don’t know much about the Hoover Dam. I’m going to change that.

I needed to go to Amazon to find some information about AVA LIN but the others you mentioned are not strangers. Time to read during the camping trip . . . what could be more ideal! I like to say that “heaven” for me better include at least one copy of all the wonderful books written for children (78 year old me, included), opportunities to meet and get to know their authors, and TIME to read every single one . . . or I’m not going! Happy Reading!
