I’ve always loved Kadir Nelson’s work, some I’m excited about THE UNDEFEATED! Sad TRUMAN didn’t make the list and SATURDAY, too.

    • Amanda Bishop says

      January 27, 2020 at 8:35 pm

I thought Truman would have won something too. My students were bummed about it too.

Happiest about NEW KID!! Jerry Craft is the nicest, smartest, most patient human. I’m really pleased his book got the accolades it deserved.

I’m surprised Rocco’s Camp Tiger didn’t get some Caldecott love.

Camp Tiger was one of my favorites too.

I haven’t been keeping up with the picture book scene, but am happy with the choices. Loved The Undefeated as well as Papi, but, no love for A Place to Land?

    • Kim C says

      January 29, 2020 at 8:35 am

I can’t believe that there was no love for “A Place to Land”, either. Not ONE award. 🙁

  9. Erin Y says

So happy for The Undefeated! I loved that book so much!
I was sad that Fry Bread didn’t get the Gold for American Indian Youth Literature, I liked that much more than Bow Wow Pow Wow…

Thrilled for The Undefeated and Going Down Home With Daddy! My kids cheered both of those!

We were really rooting for Another by Christian Robinson and my kiddos were also hoping Truman would get something.
