Supertruck by Stephen Savage
The city is full of brave trucks.
The bucket truck
fixes a sinkhole with ramen noodles.
The fire truck
puts out a new album.
The tow truck
rescues a child in France.
The garbage truck?
he just got out of a relationship.
One evening,
it starts with one thing.
It snows metal on Venus
The city is caught
in a terrible mood.
Just then, the garbage truck breaks into a garage
and becomes a rose.
He digs into the past.
He digs a grave.
He digs deepest who deepest digs.
Hurray for the riff raff!
The next morning, the trucks wonder about the mighty truck who saved them. Where could he be?
He’s just standing there menacingly.
