While the online debate rages about the cover for the upcoming Penguin UK Classics edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (pictured above), I’m excited to announce that I’ve been granted access to the covers of upcoming Penguin UK Classics.
It appears Charlie was just the tip of the iceberg. Check out these soon to be released books:
@daydreamreader gave me the idea for this post – thank you Niki!

I may never sleep well again!
I’m just worried this is going to give Penguin’s design department ideas …
It is a joke. It isn’t real…..well except for the first book….that cover is real.
Brilliant! I especially love The Secret Garden!
I think this may be my favorite 100 Scope Notes post of all time.
Thanks Betsy! All credit to @daydreamreader a.k.a. Niki for this post idea
Is it April Fool’s Day? Did I accidentally sleep through half the year? Gads!
Awesome. You are the worthy heir of Peter Sieruta in using photoshop in this evil and hilarious way.
That is soooooo creepy! But at least there weren’t any clown dolls–this time.
Hilarious and terrifying in equal parts. I will never think of The Secret Garden the same again.
Ahhhh ha ha ha ha! Travis, this is AMAZING! Thanks for the smiles!
It’s amazing how little people think these days. Maybe its always been like this, but its more obvious today since anyone with a WiFi connection can announce their stupidity to the world.
I see no problems putting Veruca Salt on the cover of a book about bad parenting and spoiled children and the cost of fame. What? That’s not what the book is about? Try reading it again.
I probably won’t get a good night’s sleep for weeks, but I got a good laugh out of this… so thanks! But no matter how terrifying your fake covers are that real Wonka cover is infinitely worse. *shudder
This is absolutely brilliant, Travis! I laughed out loud at the information desk — quite inappropriate! 🙂
Ha – thanks Sondy!
Now do Doll People. =)
