Breaking from his read-aloud standby (and established favorite picture book) Where the Wild Things Are, President Obama went with a proven winner – Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. A safe choice, sure, but you can’t deny it’s a crowd pleaser. The president didn’t quite give it the gusto of past Where the Wild Things Are readings, but he did throw some nice crowd participation into the mix.
The rest of the first family got into the mix as well, with Daughters Sasha and Maila reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Gutsy move by the First Lady, tackling the text-heavy Meatballs.
