Books on Film: Chelsea Clinton Interviews Judy Blume

Judy Blume is one of the very few household name authors. For over 40 years it’s been impossible to grow up without running into her books, which continue to resonated among young people.
I met her in 2009 at a publisher dinner during the ALA Annual conference (shout out to Lynn and Cindy for making that happen). I wasn’t planning on meeting her (see: my standard shy behavior/active avoidance around authors), but she came right up and introduced herself out of the blue. What a gal. This sort of openness is on display when Chelsea Clinton interviewed Blume for last night’s episode of Rock Center. Here are a couple clips (sorry about the ads).

Thank you so much for this, Travis! Judy Blume’s appearance in the PBS documentary MAKERS gave us a wonderful portrait of her, as well.
I’ve always loved her books… But now I love her even more because she’s hilarious on Twitter! What an awesome personality… Cracks me up every time. Thanks for the post!
