Watch the 2013 Newbery and Caldecott Awards Live!
The biggest morning in children’s literature is nigh. In a scant two weeks (Monday, January 28th @ 8:00am PT) the Youth Media awards, including the Newbery and Caldecott medals, will be handed out in Seattle the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting. For the second time ever, I’ll be in the room (this was the first time). But even if you’re not in Seattle, you can join in through the magic of the internet – they’re webcasting the whole thing. I don’t get to go this year, but will be watching eagerly. This will be all the more exciting for you this year, beginning your own committee service. Congratulations!
We will tune in at our library and project it on a big screen. We are encouraging others to come to the library and watch with us. Last Saturday we had a great time with a Mock Caldecott Election.
Travis,
Love the photograph that you posted for this blog. Perfect match.
