#HoldShelf is Coming!
I maintain the library hold shelf is one of the best ways to know what kids are actually lining up to read. So let’s share.

@MrSchuReads and I are joining forces to make On Hold @ the Library a participatory monthly event.
Here’s how it works:
Before Tuesday, March 27th, locate the hold shelf in your library.
Take picture. Share it by any of these three methods:
- Post to your blog and let me know in the comments.
- Email the photo to me at scopenotes at gmail dot com.
- Tweet the photo using the hashtag #holdshelf.
…or you can earn 1,000 bonus points* if you try all three.
*Bonus points hold no cash value or any other kind of value. Sorry about that.
On Tuesday, March 27, I’ll post a picture of my hold shelf, and include any and all submissions in the post.
I’ll be hosting this month, and Watch. Connect. Read. will have honors at the end of April.
Let’s see what ya got.

Yesss! Very excited. I always look forward to your hold shelf posts. Glad to see there will be a link-up of sorts for everyone else to share, too. Thanks.
This is a great idea! Can’t wait to see what everyone has on hold!
These photos would make for a great Pinterest board!
I agree – that may be the way to go.
Yes! That’s a great idea!
But your hold shelf is my hold shelf! 😉
Ha – that’s a problem.
I’ll let you post it. 😉 I’m happy the kids have a great librarian!
I love the #holdshelf idea. I am the nosiest person about other people’s reading material.
Unfortunately, here at my public library, the picture of the hold shelf would just show a row of books wrapped in discreet white paper.

Here is a link to my hold shelf post. It will be interesting to see what others have on their shelf.
We had already handed out a few of our books, but we had a few still hanging around the other day. http://readingtl.blogspot.com/2012/03/our-hold-shelf.html
Finally got that picture taken last week. Check it out here:
