Video: ‘Hugo’ Trailer
The children’s lit world let out a collective “daaang” when word came out that Martin Scorsese was adapting Brian Selznicks Caldecott-winning The Invention of Hugo Cabret for the silver screen. Now the first trailer for the film has been released. While the mood (of this trailer at least) is a bit lighter than I expected, I’m looking forward to checking it out. Click the image below to watch. In theaters November 23.

Oh, that is a captivating trailer. Though I’m so sick of 3D; I don’t see how this particular story will be better told in that format. *sigh* Otherwise, I’m intrigued.
It does look good, and I adore Sacha Baron-Cohen beyond measure. But I wish they’d kept the book’s title. Because I am a big uptight literary priss.
Hi! Thanks for the trailer. I wanted to read the book and, now, I must see the film! I’ve mentioned your fantastic blog on my post. Best regards from Barcelona,
Marta
Hmmmm. Just watched this trailer, courtesy of 100 Scope, for the first time. (Thanks!) I was initially intrigued (by the Scorcese connection). Now I’m not so sure this book needed a movie translation. The book is beautiful and stark and… quiet. I’m not getting much of what I loved about the Selznick from the Scorcese… Hmmmm.
