Video Clip: Beverly Cleary Talks ‘Ramona’

CBS News talks to Beverly Cleary about her ability to connect with today’s kids. Not too shabby for someone who’s been retired for a decade.

  1. Great clip, Travis. Thanks for posting. I think there is still room on today’s bookshelves for more books a la Ramona — books featuring real kids doing, coping, playing, being. Life can be adventurous enough without magic powers. And wonderful to see Beverly so vibrant and her books so well-loved through the generations. Did anyone see the Ramona movie?

  2. that was fun to watch. I loved reading Cleary’s books growing up and the daughter is now enjoying them as well.

i am curious how Cleary felt about the film (if she saw it).. I thought it was delightful (and well cast).
