Newbery Jump, Caldecott Bump 2020
It’s been a few weeks since the Newbery and Caldecott medals were handed out. Why don’t we take a look to see how the winners are faring on the New York Times Bestseller list?
First up, The Undefeated by Kwame Alexander and Kadir Nelson.

After a previous one-week stint on the list in 2019, The Undefeated returned post Caldecott (and Newbery Honor) to the #6 slot last week. This week it moved down to #10.
Second up, New Kid by Jerry Craft.
The best selleryness of New Kid is a bit harder to track, as graphic novels are a monthly, not weekly, list. But the February list is out and New Kid is currently at #9. It will be interesting to see if it continues to rise next month.

Love the book Undefeated! Can’t go wrong with a book written by Kwame Alexander! I have not read New Kid yet, but I’m interested to see what that one is like. It looks like more diverse books are winning awards, which is great to see!
