Notes on November 2012

In November…

…a missing friend returned.

Dismay turned to jubilation when a masked stranger solved our missing READ poster problem. This also led to the discovery of the Star Wars Crawl Creator, which is one of my favorite internet finds of 2012.

…we looked ahead.

It appears that there’s some nice looking books coming out in the next three months – summed up in the 2012-13 Winter Preview.

…we got a student Mock Caldecott going.

Is our winner among these 16 books? Second graders in my school district will be picking their favorites.

…I was interviewed (part 1, part 2), this blog turned five, and it moved.

I had Scieszka and The Book Whisperer on the brain when children’s author Ken Baker recently asked me a few questions, and a reader poll allowed me to make some wild generalizations.

Anything you’re excited about from November?
