Lou Dobbs recently got on the case of The Lorax, the soon to be released adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic, for indoctrinating children to…care for the environment? If you like to spend your Saturdays in a nice, mellow frame of mind, you might want to skip this one.
The smugness, it weighs on me.

Wow! That evil liberal conspiracy to corrupt the minds of children simply has to be STOPPED!
It’s just appalling to think that “Obama’s friends in Hollywood” think it’s a good idea to teach kids the importance of being good stewards of the environment to preserve its resources.
WHERE are all the authors who will write stories and scripts that teach real values – like the fact that Americans have the RIGHT to consume as much as they want and then some, and that if we really want to go far in this world we’ll do everything in our power to continue to put money in the pockets of big corporations so that hopefully, one day, we’ll also line our own.
Okay… I’ll stop now.
See – I told you it might make you mad!
Not to mention that THE LORAX was published in 1971 and THE BORROWERS is from 1952!
I guess the “liberal agenda” (read: basic values) of fairness and environmental stewardship have been around for awhile…
